Penobscot Sweetgrass Glove Box

Traditional "Glove Box" woven over my antique great grandmother's wooden form. Materials are: hand split ash wood and braided sweetgrass. These boxes have been made historically in my tribe since the mid-1800's to hold women's gloves (1840's to 1900, Victorian times). This piece won the Best of Basketry Classification in the 2020 Santa Fe Indian Market!
